My Old Sony (pt 1)

The first time I began to explore my longstanding interest in photography was right before starting college. A close friend of mine in high school would constantly lend me her camera to use to take images for my school paper. It was a black Sony cybershot, one of the last re-modelings before the slim version (think of something like the DSC-W130) that had on camera filters and was too much of a hassle to try and use manually.
When I would borrow the camera for an extended time I would use it to take pictures of my family, my friends, my girlfriend, nothing outside of what you'd expect from your average teenager. When I would "accidentally" head home with her camera in tow on the weekend though, I would use it to explore around on the 6 train (Pelham Bay Park to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall) and in Manhattan. I would do it just for some quick fun, to kill some time while waiting for friends to show up, to do something that would distract from dealing with senior year for a little while...

Day One, A New Beginning!

So guys, here it goes. A completely fresh canvas for me to use, both as a photography blog with links and tutorials and as a display for my recent photography work. I have no idea what to expect out of this or how this will all work out or what this will turn into, but isn't that the point? Trying something new, putting myself and my work out there to see what comes out of it. If you like my content, have any suggestions for the blog or have any questions about links or tutorial recommendations, feel free to leave a comment! And if you're one of the handful of people actually reading this, thanks a ton.
